How Swan's Housing Support service has helped Alastair lead a normal life “Paula, (Alastair’s Support Worker) helps me with money, like supporting me in paying for my games of pool. If I have problems she helps me deal with them and supports me to meet friends.
Paula also helps me with my housing situation and is helping me find another home, but there isn't one suitable for me at the moment. Maybe somewhere that has 24hr care and where I can work would be good for me. |

Help us to help you! Swan wants to improve their services and make them more accessible for everyone. We also want ensure that there is no discrimination within our organisation, on the grounds of a person’s gender.
We need you to tell us about your experiences when you access Swan’s services and any ideas you have for improvement. We are keen to get views from a wide range of people includiung residents, those from organisations, staff and any other interested groups. |

Janet Blackman, Sustainment Officer, has been supporting Simon Coates since March 2008. Since leaving hospital and requiring respite care Simon is living in Frinton-on-Sea. Previous to that he had been on the street, homeless.
Simon has Spina Bifida and so relies on his wheelchair. This has given him very bad pressure sores which has resulted in him spending a number of weeks in hospital having skin grafts and he still has a district Nurses visit twice a week. |

The Learning disability floating Support team is now in its third year. The team has gone through some changes to ensure we deliver a first class service. Floating support is available for adults with Learning Disabilities who live in the Essex CC area. The aim is to enable adults to live as independently as possible by supporting in areas of everyday living such as bill paying, cooking healthy meals, travel training, budgeting. |

We are keen to get views from a wide range of disabled people, carers, organisations, staff and interested groups, and to start us off we have compiled a survey that we would like you to complete. |
